What Do You Think When You See Someone Older Than A Teenager With Acne?
I am asking this because I am 27 and have a few little pimples that pop up constantly! My boyfriend does too and he’s the same age as me. People constantly think we are in our late teens, early 20′s. It is very annoying. Does having acne instantly make you young forever in other people’s eyes? We have an 8 mth old and older (and sometimes younger!) people are contantly “tsk tsking” us for having a baby so young. I have even had people say “aren’t you a little young to have a baby?” Can you believe that? Should I just be happy that I look so young or do I have a valid reason for being annoyed?
Also neither of us go sunbathing so we have no wrinkles starting at all.

I really dont notice if someone has spots and if I do i dont really care we all get them no matter what age! As for looking young think of it as a blessing! People shouldn’t jump to conclusions about apperance and age! The best parents are determined by the type of people they are not their age!
You can get pimples at any time in your life though teenage years are the “highest peak” of pimples. I know what you mean about that!!! I’m 22 but people think I’m between 15 -17! so I always get asked for my ID, or men will watch their language when I’m at a store or something because they think I don’t know bad words and stuff. i think it’s funny when that happens,, specially when I started working! I work in a school (High School)in the communications area, and the first week a lot of teachers would yell at me for being “out of my class” IT WAS HILARIOUS!
Anyway feel happy for yourself and your husband to look great at 27!
About people that tssk you, just ignore them, you know you’re not too young and anyway they’re complete strangers so why worry, you’ll probably won’t even see them again…
Hi there: I am an Aesthetician, a professional skin specialist.
After my first son I broke out from hormonal changes for 2 years. Adult acne is very common for new moms…but your better half has them too. That automatically makes me think 3 things:
1) Are you both cleansing your face in the am and pm?
2) Are your pillow cases cleaned regulary? and
3) Does your hair or hands or baby’s head touch your face often?
To reduce adult blemishes that are not severe acne washing your face am and pm with an oil free face wash. Follow with a toner and then an oil free moisturizer. People think that moistureizer worsens blemishes…not true. A low end good one is Biore, mid level is ProActive (I swear by it) and the high end would be Clinique’s 3 step. They make men’s and women’s products. The best men’s Product of all is the new L’oreal line sold by them men’s shaving supplies.
Pillow case….when I do not keep my pillow cases very clean i’ll break out even more. I have combo skin so there is some oil. Oil deposits on the cases from and unclean face, hair or even drooling and then keeps building up and the bacteria festers and redeposits on your skin causing… ta-da… blemishes.
Lastly…body parts touching your face transfers oils as well. Hands, cheeks, hair..several parts. Baby’s head, as wonderful as it smells after a bath, …has oil as well. I used to break out under my chin because both of my boys heads rested perfectly there when rocking them. Resting your cheek on the baby’s head will adventually cause a break out if you are prone to them as well.
Just keep everything and one very clean until your skin calms down. Tie back all of you hair so it does not touch your face. Really try ProActive…I promise after 2 weeks you’ll see results… (I am not a spokesperson nor do I work for ProActive.)
Please never squeeze a blemish. Feel free to IM or e-mail me if you have more questions… Take care!
I don’t think anything not only teenagers can have acne. You should be honored that you look young.
You can be in your late 40′s and get acne. It means nothing.
thr is nothing to worry in ths …. acne is an inflammation of the subecious gland(sweat glands)… it mainly occurs due some hormonal activity , mainly the sex hormones and the growth hormone…. it very common in puberty( teen age ) but can occur anitime in active sexual state of a human bieng…
if u r really annoyed u can consult a dermatologist … uv therapy sometimes helps in such case…
Personally, those people are rediculous. I think nothing of it because no matter what age you are, you are still a humanl; and the fact of the matter is that humans aren’t perfect and acne is just an example. So what if people think you are younger than you really are! I’d take it with a grain of salt and move on. Just try to remember to wash your face every morning and every night and if that still doesn’t work, use something like Proactiv. I hear it works pretty well. I hope things get better for you! Good luck!
I’m a guy and I find acne disgusting on any female. but on any guy under 30 – I find it downright adorable.!!!
I am attracted to younger guys with acne and pimples, I think it’s cute and makes them look boyish.
women have to have perfect complexions – but I can tolerate pimples on guys – it doesn’t look so bad on them. It’s cute !!!!
And it’s wonderful that you and him look so young – you should be HAPPY and delighted to look so kiddish!!!! And I like the fact that the two of you both have some pimples. You look good together like a pair of teenyboppers. how cute !!!!!
I rest my case.
I’m 24, I have the same problem, nothing helps it. It’s fun when shop assistant ask if you’re over 18 when you want to buy some drinks or cigarette
.
Honestly, I can’t blame them. Even I think of a spotty person that he/she is a teen or a young adult.
I’ll be 49 in 2 days I break out .
It is due to your food that you consume that make your skin breaks out with pimples nothing to do with age
