@TheSukiebapswent My doctor put me on progesterone only bc pills to try and help my acne when the traditional pill didn’t work. Only thing that happened was my hair fell out in clumps… Great.
@SarahGilmour have you tried colonic irrigation? it helped me a lot, which was very surprising because it wasn’t the reason I had the treatment done in the first place!
@Fancylooks I have the same issues! Wow. I’m 36 and was using MAC liquid foundation which is definitely too heavy for me…I stopped using that and I wash with soap-free oil-free wash by Purpose and I exfoliate daily, just on my cheeks where I get those bumps, with Philosophy Microdelivery exfoliating wash and use an alcohol-free toner afterwards followed up with Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer for combination skin..whew! This has cleared my acne and faded the old scars : )
@SarahGilmour hmm I don’t know if I would have prescribed that myself, but sometimes there is trial an error I suppose… sorrty you had such a horrible reaction to it
@SarahGilmour if you use a glycolic acid preparation like Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction pads every day, it might help. I have had acne on my back for years and they are the only thing that helped. It hasn’t completely disappeared but it is so so much better!!
very interesting. i have this problem too but it’s gotten a lot better since i’m using the right products!
hi ! thanks for the information!! can u explain causes of white heads.i have them on my nose, chin, and at times they appear on my cheeks. on my cheeks or forehead they form a pimple like bump, but they are not pimple , cause they dont have sebum, and they need to be squeezed if i want them to go, otherwise if i leave them it would eventually dry but the bump remains. whiteheads are difficult to remove and they appear frequently. no product works on them, and have to be squeezed to remove
I have the same problem, I have to cut them open or else they would stay forever on my skin fortunately I don´t have any scars. Yes Doc!!! Can you explain us more about this nightmare?? Thanks!!!
@SarahGilmour I had Accutane and it´s the best thing I ever did in my life, I waited till the treatment was over to have kids, and no problem. Don´t know about the cornea thing though, I didn´t have any mayor side effects other than dry skin and peeling like a snake
@kindagorgeous great info! i think this is the main reason, along with high levels of male androgens in women without pcos , that is responsible, not stress or dirt in the air!
I’m just starting to go threw this. Thanks for the video
@bohogirl1 i believe they (stress and dirt) do contribute for acne breakouts, but with a good cleasing routine, you can the fight the dirt easily, but the stress is quite a difficult one. i used to have much more breakouts when i was at uni and driving everyday. unfortunately i still have my hormonal background and i’m in constant treatment against my acne and scars. sometimes it’s frustrating! but we got fight them lol. have a great day! x
Thanks for the info, as don’t know what the heck id going on with my skin lately!! :0(
I hope the next video is about treatments. . .
Hello doctor, can you please do video about laser hair removel, is it dengrous or safe to do? thanks
I never had acne as a teen but I get acne now that I am in my late 30′s. It drives me crazy.
@atlantidaorca Accutane is so dangerous. It can really wreak havoc on your immune system leading to serious chronic illnesses. I would never condone myself or a loved one going on this drug.
Thanks doc!!!
hi doc, can milk really aggravate or even cause acne?
@shwetasarawgi82 While it’s always hard to pinpoint anything from a YouTube comment, I think you might find the following DermTV episodes helpful: Acne 101, Syringomas, Acne Treatment in Three Easy Steps, and How to Treat Cystic Acne. Hope at least one of those address your questions. (I would post links but YouTube doesn’t allow me to. Just search for “DermTV” and each title in the search box and they should come up.)

You have the best skin care videos I’ve seen on youtube.
I developed a small pimple under my eye 2 wks ago (where people have dark circles). No pus is present and this has never happened before. What could have caused it?
Thank you for your help

@raspberrypineapple It is not if you are completelly healthy and you do an intense follow up by a doctor while to take it. I had blood tests every 2 weeks to check if everything was ok, and no problem. If it was that horrible, it would be forbidden to prescript, and it’s not. I know lots of people who had it under a dermatologist supervision and all fine.
@atlantidaorca Actually, despite every precaution, this remains a very potentially dangerous drug. I am not saying that everyone who in on Accutane has a health calamity, but the risks almost always outweigh the benefits.
Please understand, just because you are in a doctor’s care and a drug is FDA approved does not mean you are in the clear. I actually work for the FDA, so believe me when I say we approve drugs that should not be approved and vice versa. It’s so much about politics.
