Tattoo Over Scars . . . How Will It Turn Out?

I suffered from horrible acne as a teen on my shoulders. Now I want to get a heart with “mom” in it on my right shoulder, but I’m afraid it won’t look right because of the acne scars. What do you think?
PS:
I don’t care about what you think of my tattoo idea. That wasn’t what I asked about. I love my mom dearly and I love tattoos. So there. (:

It depends on the severity of the scars. Talk to the artist who would be doing the tattoo. They would be able to give you an answer.
If you can’t tattoo over the scars, perhaps you should think of different placement.
you should be fine. if the scars were really bad then it may be a bit difficult but if they are only from acne it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. i tattoo’d over light stretch marks and my tats came out beautiful. just talk to your artist and make sure they are comfortable with it.
