I am 32 years old and I have battled an acne problem since I was a teenager. At times it would be OK but then flare up again. For the past 4 years I have used Proactiv and although it helps, I still have flare ups. Has anyone tried any other products out there other than Proactiv and has had any success?

I’m in my early 20′s and I have been using Proactive once a day but it hasn’t really worked for me. My mom wants me to use it twice a day. I have no idea how to get rid of this acne. I have heard birth control pills might work but I’m not sure if that’s true or not. I didn’t have acne like this when I was a teenager.
How do you (if you are a teenager now) combat your acne problem, if you have acne. Luckily, I am seventeen, have not had acne during my lifetime, yay for me! Anyway, and if you are an adult as of now, how did you combat your acne problem when you were a teenager?
I used to have medicore acne on my face when I was a teenager (not too long ago). I’m now 22 years old and I get acne only occasionally; it’s not a big deal and it doesn’t bother me. What does bother me though are the bumps that have persisted through my teenage years and are still on my face . On my forehead and on nose especially, there are small bumps (where my old acne used to be) that have been there for years and just won’t go away. What can I do?
I’m thinking it’s dirty pores, if it is, how long does it take to clean the pores and what should i use? Is it a good idea to "pop" the bumps so I can clean the pores more quickly, and "deflate" the bumps?

I am in my late 20′s now, and had acne when I was a teenager. The acne is gone, but I still have light scars on my face. I think I would look so much better without them. What is the best way to get rid of them?
I am a teenager and of course I want to feel pretty and I want guys to notice me. I have lots of friends but I have never had a boyfriend because I have tons of hideous black acne scars on my face. I hate them and they hold me back because I feel insecure all the time, even around my close guy friends. Guys have come up to me and said, "I would definetly go out with you if you didnt have the stuff on your face." It’s embarrasing and I’ve tried EVERYTHING! That includes Proactiv, prescriptions, pills, etc. Can someone please help me deal with my problem and suggest any homemade acne scar remedies you’ve used?
I’ve been suffering from acne for years now and no matter what I try, it’s not going away. I know it has to do with hormones and growth, since I am a teenager, but it is really getting annoying. I’m so sick of having such a problem. I’ve tried Proactive, various natural remedies, and other over the counter products, but none have worked. I have oily skin and I’m thinking about using an acne peel as my last resort. I don’t want to become dependent on such medicines, however. Any suggestions?
When i was a teenager, i had a lot of acne. Now that it’s mostly gone, i have a bunch of scars. (they are mostly on the side of my eyes by my hair, and on the side of my chin.). How can i hide them very well, or get rid of them?
my scars aren’t deep, their just darker than my skin color, and they have no bumps, how can i remove those without having to spend alot of money because i’m only a teenager and i dont have a lot of time to spend for this but i dont want my acne scars, it lowers my self-esteem.
thanks for anything you can provide!
oh, and does mederma work?
I had a lot of acne as a teenager – well last year – and now there are all these dark red and brown spots on my face. It drives me crazy to always have to cover myself up with make-up and foundations.
What are the best, most effective treatments for completely fading acne scars like this? They aren’t indented or anything, they’re just spots. I’m willing to go to the dermatologist as well, so if there are any chemical peels or laser treatments that they could give me, then please elaborate on the best investments there.
