Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide really irritate my combination skin, which is very dry, sensitive, and oily. However, as I’m prone to breakouts, I need something I can put on my acne that will help it go away faster, preferably something that’s tinted (either white or a skin-tone color) and will help mask the actual acne. Any tips?
My skin is NOT oily like most people with acne…it’s dry sensitive and sometimes itchy….Thanks alot…Oh yea and I never had acne as a teen,I just turned 30 and now it decides to come out …it’s kinda crazy…
I have very sensitive skin. Its not covered in acne, in fact I very rarely get a pimple. But I have this weird thing going on. Its on the lower half of one of my cheeks and a tiny bit on the other cheek. It’s like red and there’s a lot of tiny pumps (like under-skin pimples). It’s not rosacea (i don’t think) but it looks like a light case. I don’t think it’s a rash because it’s like, always there.
Anyways, what are some good cleansers, toners, moisturizers and other facial products that are good for my skin? REMEMBER that it’s very sensitive so don’t say Proactiv. I need them to be found at walmart or zellers.
I’m currently using Garnier Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure purifying gel cleanser and Garnier Skin Naturals Fresh 24-hour Hydrating Day Cream twice a say.
thanks
I use Cetaphil to wash my face, an exfoliating scrub w/salicylic acid every other day, and I use Neutrogena On the Spot treatment to avoid any major break-outs. However, my skin still is not as clear. I go to a dermatologist, and he says that I have Acne Vulgaris, which is a medical description of simple acne! So frustrating. I don’t want to use major chemicals on my face, so I stopped using Tazorac, which is a prescription Retin-A product, and I just stuck with the over-the-counter stuff, which my dermatologist approved.
I just have some acne on my forehead and I just want to get rid of it, or at least reduce it and prevent new ones from forming because I’m starting high school in late August. I can’t use anything with benzoyl peroxide because even if I just use a little bit, my skin gets red and irritated. What is the best acne treatment for people like me?
In order to treat very sensitive, irritated, combination skin with acne, what acne treatment system is best to use for my skin, either from experience, or knowledge.. Please state your story.
Thank you.
I had terrible acne all throughout high school–so badly in fact that I was put on Accutane twice. I found it to be one of the most emotionally debilitating times of my life. My question is this–do you think society understands how much acne can affect a person psychologically and emotionally? I’ve noticed that people tend to categorize it as something that teens go through and it’s just a natural part of life without acknowledging the damaging effects it can have on a person’s psyche. Thoughts?
My skin is prone to redness (not rosacea… the redness goes away if I don’t touch it, so overnight it turns to normal color, then I wash and moisturize, it turns red from rubbing)
Anyway, is there anything that will deep clean, NOT dry me out, has a light fragrance, and won’t break me out in pimples?
Adelle Davis believed that acne rosacea was a sign of B vitamin deficiencies. Try a B100 complex daily for one bottle. If you improve cut back to a B50 for another bottle. Then when you are happy with the results take a good multiple vitamin-mineral formula daily. See Let’s Get Well by Adelle for details.
Good luck!
