And before going out for the dermatologist, you should consider several things: -Check your health insurance, if there is a dermatologist available in the list. -If not, find out the information about the dermatologist in your area -Ask for references from anybody you know, if possible you can ask a referral from your family doctor, or you can also search online -After you can find out the dermatologist in your area, do some research about the dermatologists credibility and reputation. Of course you dont want to go to someone that didnt have a good reference, right? Or you can also check it from the American Board of Dermatology website, which collects all information about reputation and track record of dermatologists. -Also you can call the dermatologist office in order to getting known the quality services of the staff when dealing with the patients -Do some initial consultant. Before you choosing the one that really can help you, you can complete your research by trying to consult with the dermatologist on your list. Got problem skin? Stop popping those zits and put down the Proactiv: your iPhone is here to help. A new app from dermatologist Dr. Greg Pearson called ‘AcneApp’ claims that it can cure acne and even improve wrinkles. The .99 app promises to improve your skin while you gab: it will project either red or blue light onto your face, which will, supposedly, kill bacteria and promote collagen growth. According to the app’s description on iTunes, the dermatologist-developed treatment uses 420 nanometer blue light (which has antibacterial properties) and 550 nanometer red light (which is anti-inflammatory) to help your complexion. So does it work? You can follow me on Twitter twitter.com & email MarkTheTechGuy@live.ca
The acne problem is a problem that almost everyone ever suffers in a degree or in puberty time of their life. The problem is not only about the acne, but the scar that left behind becoming the most frustrating problem. Usually it can heal after a week or two, but for some people it…
hi guys
so im a teen..
i dont exactly have typical acne…
pretty much my whole face is clear
except i get these white heads surrounding my lips/ mouth / chin area,..
its really embarassing.
i try to pop them cause they hurt.. and i get all the white out but then it takes forever for it to create a scab , then it stays there for the longest time!
i know its bad to pop them, but it hurts when theres gross stuff in my face..
i cover them with makeup..
but im looking for something to basically make them stop appearing/make them go away
i figured i would just try Proactiv.. ive heard it makes ppl’s face red.. but apparently it supposed to turn red, then get better? (and im aware not everything works for every1)
i use a face wash now, ive been through many brands and nothing seems to help!
proactiv .. or something else?
this is just getting way too embarassing since its only around my mouth.
thanks
I’m 23 years old, and when I was in my teen years I never had an acne problem, ever. I always had really clear skin. Now though I’m finding that my skin gets very dry easily, and almost like a dull pasty look to it. I’ve also been breaking out in a few spots, and my face looks more reddish and splotchy. I don’t understand why this is happening now, what can I do about it? Also, if it helps, I recently went off birth control pills, so could the uneven skin tone have something to do with hormones? what can I do to make my skin more clear and even?
I’m a teen that suffers from mile acne on both my face and my upper back. What works better, over-the- counter or holistic products?
My mother has gotten very herbal and holistic this past year, and believes in all these crack-pot things like the world is ending and “the secret” and has been watching youtube videos posted by people who obviously suffer from paranoia and other mental disorders. She used to be someone I trusted in regard to opinions, but with her current lifestyle i really can’t put my faith in her. I used to use Retin A for clearing acne and prevention, it worked but i haven’t used it in 6 month or so and well now acne has invaded my face. 6 month ago when I ran out, my mother told me to use these remedies, some very holistic stuff, and even though I was unsure, I trusted her and took it, I’ve been using it and it has really no effect. I really no longer have faith in her and she won’t allow me to even buy myself acne cream because she believes it is poisonous to my skin. Please help me. I’ve become very self conscious and I stopped swimming because if my back acne I’m receiving low grades in gym because I can’t change in the locker rooms and always come unprepared.
When I was a teen, I had no acne whatsoever, but as soon as I hit 20 I broke out badly. I tried everything under the sun to get rid of it.. I tried benzoil peroxide and salysidic acid face washes and scrubs, clindamycine, perscriptions, clay masks, clearasil, proactive, free acne, microderm abrasions, and even toothpaste! When those didn’t work, I tried natural rememdies like mixes of herbs, garlic, turmeric, milk, lime juice, cucumber, honey, hot sauce and all sorts of other things. I even tried olive oil because I was told that it was good for pulling out the oil on your face. How? I didn’t care…I’m just desperate to try anything. Heck I’d even try salami slices if someone told me they were good for getting rid of acne. (I know they’re not, but…) Is there something I’m missing? I have a good diet. I eat fruits and veggies, I avoid red meats and fatty foods, I drink tons of green tea, I eat plenty of foods with garlic and hotsauce, and I exercise regularly. What am I doing wrong?
Here’s a quick breakdown.
During sleep I develop a greasey skin problem, after washing and showering my face becomes dry and can have bits of dry skin on forhead and chin (especially if i rub) i keep getting not-bad-acne but more spots than any normal teen should be having let alone a 20 year old.. what shall i do?
Hey people, ive always been an acne sufferer since teen years, i then one day thought i should go to a local dr about it, who reccomended i be put on doxycycline 100mg once a day…….best thing that ever happened to me, my acne cleared within a week and everything was looking great, problem is, everytime i went off the drug for a week, acne would flare up again…..I think im an addict and i take it once a day, and having been doing so for the last 4-5 years!!!, dr doesnt seem to mind about this at all. Now the problem is i used to get cystic acne on my nose mainly all the time, which is now all cleared up (the occasional little ones appear). But last year for no unknown reason, i started to get really really bad forehead acne, and ive been trying to fight it all year(still on doxy 100mg)….would the doxy be the cause, even though its not actually killing the forehead acne, and only the nose pimples…..i really hate my forehead atm!
… until there are scars and there’s one little raised scar measuring about 5mm by 10mm roughly the size of the nail on my little finger.
Let’s say i am trying to attract a guy or sleep with him will he mind at all?
I can’t afford the bills to get it surgically removed. Do all women have scarless skin? Would any guy mind if i had this little scar when (for example) he touches it?
