My skin on my face is horrible. Its very very dry when I get out of the shower, and I put rosacea medication (metro gel) and lotion on it (I use Lubriderm sensitive skin). The lotion seems to do nothing, because my face is still rough and peely looking. I do use an exfoliator periodically in the shower (once a week or so). I also have rosacea on my cheeks and my temples, and acne on my chin and around my mouth. I cant stand it! My dr. prescribed me the metro gel to clear up the rosacea, and he didnt think the acne was bad enough to warrant treatment. Im 27 years old, and Im sick of having teenager skin on my face! My diet does not consist of much fat, I eat healthy, I do not smoke, I drink TONS of water, so im not sure what the problem is. Ive tried being on the pill, that didnt work (now im thinking about getting pregnant, so thats out). My doctor has prescribed me other medications for my face, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas as to what my problem is?

Okay so I keep asking questions about make-up and I’m not gettin’ the answers I’m looking for. I use MAC right now and I’ve been using MAC for years. I definitely need a change now. I’m finding that it just isn’t doing the trick. Even with the primer, my make-up still slides off. I’m in need of something totally new and different. I keep hearing about this Bare Minerals and I’m afraid to buy it ’cause I’m looking for FULL coverage and I don’t know how well this stuff works. I’m talking something that will seriously cover, acne scars, rosacea etc.. Please help me out!

Please help!
Im 17 and have had acne since i was about 13…Ive tried everything, most oral antibiotics and different creams and have also been to a dermatologist several times. I have also been on the pill dianette for over a year which has helped my acne a bit but not any more than all the other treatments have worked.
Basically, while certain antibiotics have been good at clearing the actual spots around my forehead and nose up, when I come off these the spots start to come back. I was on lymecycline recently and that cleared all my spots up but I came off it about a month ago and they are starting to come back.
The main thing is though, its not r4eally the spots that bother me because i don’t really have very many of them. My chin, and areas around my nose are just really inflamed and red (I find in natural light and outside this does not look so bad and my skin actually looks quite clear, but in bright lighting my skin looks really really disgusting and red and inflamed.) I think I got this type of acne on my chin when I was about 14 as before that my acne was just spots.
At first I thought this inflammation was scarring but the dermatologist has said my acnes not scarring so I don’t know what else it could be, as I have never seen anyone with this type of acne as everyone else just seems to have spots and I don’t know what type of acne mine is called? I thought it might me acne rosacea, which I have heard of, but the dermatologists would have identified this ?
Anyway, I have tried everything for my skin and its really getting me down as I desperately want clear skin and I done know what to do. The doctors said the only thing left for me to try is roaccutane (the dermatologist put me on the cream version of roaccutane called differein cream before as they said it would have the same benefits for me, but without the side effects…but this hasn’t worked)….but they also said my acne isn’t severe enough to use this, and also its got really bad side effects. But they say this is the only thing left for me to try which really scares me because what if that doesn’t even work?
Anyway, this is really getting me down and does anyone have any advice on this please? Id really appreciate it…
Thankyou,
Jen xxxx

Just like countless other teens I have a mild acne case. So does anyone know what a good product is to buy or any other way to get rid of acne.

I need some ideas for a good spot acne treatment. I don’t have bad acne, just the occasional breakout. Something I could put on right before bed and remove in the morning would be great. I have pretty sensitive skin tho, so anything with alcohol might damage my skin.
But any answers are much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!

Recently I’ve been doing some research as to why my face is always so red and irritated. I came across many sites to do with Rosacea and treatment for the condition. I realized that the early stages actually seem to relate with my skin problems. Although I’m only 14, I’m wondering if I have a higher chance than most of developing Rosacea when I’m older. I always blush and I get a bright red face when I get overheated, eat spicy foods, over exert myself and especially when I’m embarrassed. Even when I wash my face with water! Really, the only time my face is it’s true colour is immediately when I wake up. It usually takes a while for the redness to go down afterward too. I’ve got really pale skin everywhere else. I have mild acne as well, but I use proactive, which actually helps a lot as it used to be much worse. If I do have signs of developing Rosacea is there something I could do to prevent it, slow it down, or stop my face from getting so red? I live in Australia, and it’s summer at the moment, so it’s kind of hard to do things like stay out of the sun or not do much sports. But my bright red, shiny face is really embarrassing and has lowered my confidence a lot. Thanks.

I can only use certain products because some break me out more. I’m almost a teenager, but I don’t think it’s teen acne. I’ve had acne since I was about 8. I want to clear before school starts, which is in a week. HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I have pretty mild acne. But i’ve been fun of it. Summers almost over and i want to come to school with a fresh face w/o acne. I’ve tried quite a few products like : dove cleanser, ponds , netroguena oily skin face wash, but they haven’t really worked. I wear natural, bear and minerals makeup. Does anyone have any good ways to get of acne?

I’ve been to a dermatologist who was of no assistance b/c she gave me differin and erythromycin which just irritated my skin. The erythromycin helped calm the acne, but the differin did nothing. The derm. told me what I had was NOT rosacea, but just clogged pores. However, my t-zone is red (& cheeks) and I’ve been having dry-eye issues and occasional conjunctivitis of the eye. I’ve been to an opthamologist twice since having bad red eye, and both times they said the eye problem is related to my skin condition. The second opthamalogist said I have acne rosacea. How do I know for sure? What are the best treatments for acne rosacea? Also, just a side-note: I have had acne for several years and bp, salycic acid, anything containing fragrance, and mostly everything irritates my skin! The only think that gets rid of the acne is egg yolk at night. However, the redness is constant. I really would like to soothe the redness if possible. Any good remedies that won’t irritate my skin?
