Want smooth skin. How to get it without having my acne resurface. Benzoyl peroxide is the only thing that keeps my acne at bay but now that the acne is gone, I don’t want to keep using it and I want to smooth out all these fine wrinkles that are left over and even my skin tone.

I’ve had moderate acne for a few months now and I’m just starting to clear up after months of using 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cleanser and the 10% benzoyl peroxide gel. I’m not getting any new pimples and it’s getting better.
I think I have combination skin where it’s oily around my nose and chin but dry everywhere else.
What kind of moisturizer and cleanser should I use now that my acne’s cleared up?

Has anyone found a remedy or prescription that works good with combating acne that itches the skin, leaves purple scars after, and always ends up leaving a surprise new blemish everyday? Is it an allergic reaction to something or I am just over-exaggerating?

i don’t really have an acne problem. my dad has rosacea and i was wondering if i could possibly have it, too. i’m only 20 and i read that it doesn’t set in until a person’s 30s but i still wonder because my face looks like the pictures i found on the web of the early stage of rosacea. does anyone have any possible things it could be or does anyone have rosacea and could tell me more about it?

I took accutane for about 9 or 10 months and it cleared up my face very well. Ive been off of it for about 4 months and I am slowly but surely seeing small pimples coming back all over my nose and upper lip. Before accutane, nothing worked for me. No lotions or creams did anything to the acne. I am wondering what the best thing is to do now after accutane without going back on it again. Thanks!

I’m sure it’s not “rosacea” because there’s no acne involved.
It’s just red all over and slightly burning. Just enough to annoy me.

I’ve heard a lot about that most teens get acne because of their hormone imbalance causing more oil production and that usually for most their skin gets a lot better after the teen years. I have had acne since I was like 11-12 years old. First it started out small, to mild, to worse, and now it’s gotten REALLY bad like all over my face and body and I’m 15 now turning 16 in April. I use ProActiv and took Minocycline but it doesn’t help that much. My dad only had little acne for like 1 year during his teens but I’ve been battling it for like 4 years. Just wondering.. can your skin actually get better starting in your early twenties? I don’t want acne forever. No one in my family ever has had bad skin! And I have a pretty good diet. And I take care of my face. =(
And PS- About the hormones which increase the serebum, do the hormones get back to normal after puberty as well?

I was holidaying in Vietnam; doing trekking tours and it was really muggy weather. I got back from the holiday and all of this rash and acne like pimples have developed on my back. I have always had the odd pimple here and there, but never to this extent. Does anyone have any suggestions on what this could be? Would it be a sweat rash with an infection? Looking fwd to your feedback.

I started with acne on my upper back and face. Now my face is becoming very clear and my upper back is starting to get better. Randomly all down the area of my spine I got a lot of pimple like red bumps. I am guessing it is acne but I don’t know why it is having an affect on my skin after being on medication for so long !
I was prescribed doryx pills, ovace face wash, and ziana gel on my acne.
