I’m almost 22 years old. During my teen years and puberty I never had acne- with the exception of the occasional but rare pimple on my face, I consider myself lucky for not having to go through the acne phase most of my life.
As I’m getting older I’m noticing more and more acne starting to develope on my face. I don’t have an oily face or T-zone acne, it mainly developes on my chin area- and at the edges of my eyebrows. It’s not the acne thats full of puss and nasty- it’s 99% little annoying red bumps that usually turn out to be a black head in the long run.
My mother struggled with adult acne, so could this be happening to me? And what products would you recomend? I have semi-sensitive skin so Noxema or Neutrogena just breaks me out more- which is also a problem!
Any advice?
My skin is driving me crazy. I had very, very minimal acne as a teen, I am now in my 30′s (this started around 23) and my skin is extremly oily, and because of this it gets many large embarassing bumps. I wash my face twice a day with neutragena oil free face wash. I feel like I am only doing it for my health because it does nothing for me. I have tried everything over the counter, as well as dermalogica, and proactive. I do not have health insurance and cannot afford the enormous derm. visit. This is seriously upsetting me because it feels like no matter what i do I can not get this to go away. I feel like this is all people see when they look at me. I also feel like it makes me look like I dont take care of myself because my skin is always so oily, this is embarrassing. What can I do differently? If anyone has a solution I would be greatful.
Please no jabs, as this really is difficult to ask about.

I am 26 years old (male) and am having skin changes mostly under eyes(cheekbones). Recently in the last 9 month I have had quite a bit of acne, almost comparable to my teen years but not as bad. My biggest wonder iS the tiny needle point indentations that have formed mostly on my cheek bone along with redness and dryness. I have up to know had almost flawless skin. Is this aging, sun damage, adult acne?
I’ve had acne since teens, am 23 now. It’s ranged from light to severe, but I’ve never been acne free. Recently went to my family doctor when I was sick, as a side note he prescribed Tetracycline to help with the acne. After reading the effects, I’m not interested in taking it long term. However, I only have an issue with facial acne, not anywhere else. Over the last year I’ve cut back on makeup more and more, now only use concealer and Physician’s Formula talc-free face powder. Could the makeup be the issue? I never go to bed with it on, wash my face every night, twice a day apply benzoyl peroxide cream, I drink lots of water and eat lots of fruits/veggies/fiber. I DON’T GET IT! It feels like I’m doing everything I can with no results. I don’t want to stop wearing makeup yet–I’ll feel like a troll–but do you think it would help that much? Does anyone have any tips/tricks/ideas?

or after your teens are over and you are done with puberty can you stop?
I have never had breakouts until the last year or so. My face is oily and the pores on my cheeks and chin are large. I need to know the best cleansing products and makeup. I have heard it is best to use products from the same line. It is horrible. I have blackheads. I never had one zit as a teen and now I am a mess.
I missed the whole adolescent acne time period. I started getting acne about 2 years ago. I am 26 and I seem to be getting it worse. Anybody know what really works to get rid of it? How about proactiv? I tried everything. From oily skin products to dry skin products. Nothing seems to be working. My pores seem larger than they used to be. Lots of blackheads. Any ideas?
So i do know that adults get pimples
But i was hoping that it wouldn’t be as bad as it is in your teen years!
i am 15 and my acne was way worse in middle school
but i still have it….but i honestly dont want to deal with things like bacne and stuff my whole life….
i can take the blemishes once in a while…but not the constant break outs!
so over all…Will my acne get better as i get older?
I am 30 with adult acne on my cheeks. When younger it was on my t-zone but now mostly on my cheeks and beginning to scar. I have been on accutane before. Cleared it up but it’s back in different location.
I am currently using combo of dial soap, tri-derma intense fast healing in morning and acnexus and benzaclin at night.
Also, I have oily skin most of the time. I do use proactive solution, but it doesn’t work that well with my skin anymore. Also, when I was a teen I took acutane for three months and it only got rid of my most severe cystic acne, but I sill have overall breakouts all the time, and I just turned 26. So if you know of a really great product that works, please let me know. Especially the nonprescription methods.
