Rosacea Or Psorisis, What Do You Think I Have?
I am a 52 year old male. I have had various doctors go back and forth as to whether or not I had rosacea or Psoriasis or even Lupus. (Lupus has been ruled out via several blood tests.
My symptoms include redness in a bit of a butterfly shap across the nose and forehead, but also if I do not use my medicine, Metronidazole, I get flaking of the skin as bad as any sunburn I have ever had. There is no pain or other sensation. There is nothing that even comes close to looking like acne.
Can you tell me a sure-fire way to know what I have?

they’re 2 completely different things..and your doctor should know. rosacea does not cause flaking of the skin. it is an inflammation of the capillaries (usually caused by synthetic products, too much hot and spicy food or too much acid/bacteria in the stomach) psoriasis is when your body cannot absorb and properly digest fatty acids causing your skin to shed too quick and flake. sometimes theres redness…BUT both are usually the result of too much bacteria (candida) in yor system and BOTH are usually present in you, since your childhood or birth…check into that. what you can do in the meantime to reduce the redness is look for soothing products like laveder oil/chamomile tea (applied directly and drinken) or calendual cream.
Rosacea sound just like what you have.
Sounds like Rosacea , however the flaking of the skin is not present with my husband’s Rosacea. Then I had an aunt who had Psoriasis and hers was flaking . It never went away I am sorry to say . No matter what she did for it . Sorry again.LOL
There was a product called ‘Tegrin”, that helped a lot .
Be of good cheer and remember there are worse things for us to bear . Stay out off the sun and it will help .
Good Luck
you have psorisis
psorisis
Proper diagnosis for Lupus is symptom based. Why have they not biopsied the skin? Psoriasis can have other symptoms as well, such as pitted nails. Psoriasis is also itchy. I have lived with it most of my life. In the meanwhile try Aquaphor or Eucerine on the dry flaking. Good luck
I believe you have Rosacea, I can’t believe your Dr’s dont know!!
My hubby has psoriasis and takes, Methotrexate (Chemo) for it. He has had it since 18 yrs old, but not on his face. He started taking the Chemo recently, the Dr. said it will go away in time, but will always have to take it. Psoriasis can get into the joints and cause crippling and be very painfull.
Look both up on the Web. Should find answers there.
Good luck….
Sounds like seborrheic dermatitis, which is a common, chronic inflammatory disease of the skin. It is difficult to tell apart from psoriasis. Below are two links, one about seborrheic dermatitis and another about Metronidazole.
