Red Cheeks??
I’m a 17 year old male with kind of pale skin, and my cheeks get red in certain conditions like warm/really cold weather, drinking, excercise, etc.
I have really healthy skin, no acne or anything, and i really have no clue what causes this. I’ve had pretty rosy cheeks my whole life but recently in the past few years it been getting a lot worse. The only change i’ve made in my lifestyle is i started working out, and consume alot of protein in my diet, but I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. My mom said she had the same thing when she was younger, and that it went away with age (she’s an anetheseaoligist BTW), but i think mine is worse, and i have paler skin. I’ve been reading up on it and i’ve been intrigued about IPL, but don’t have a clue if that’s what i need, as it sounds like thats only for people with bad rosacea. Any help/comments would be appreciated.

I recommend visiting a dermatologist. You probably have rosacea in a mild form. They will probably prescribe metrodinazole (i think that’s the name) it comes in cream and gel. I recommend the cream.
I also recommend a mild cleanser and moisturizer, also never leave your home w/o sun screen.
I have had rosacea for 15 years. I use the medicine, and the following Neutrogena products: the liquid soap, Oil Free Moisture for Sensitive Skin and Sunblock for Sensitive Skin (SPF 30). This regimen has helped me tremendously.
Now I only get red when I drink wine, which I’m not about to give up. When I feel myself getting red, I just tell people, “I have rosacea, that’s why my cheeks get red.” And that ends the speculation.
I live in cold weather and always wear a scarf and if it is very cold and windy I cover my face, nose downward. In the summer I just make sure I wear the sunscreen.
Good luck!
I know at your age this can be embarrassing just hang in there. Rosy cheeks can be very cute.
