Please Help Me With Acne Scar ?
I am a 18 yr old male teen & have acne since i was 14. I realized today that i really do have acne scars – there is a cluster of red acne which leaves me red/brown marks, and i’ve had these for nearly 8 months. I wash my face 2 times a day, but no use. What proven treatments are there to solve this ? I am going to the doctors tomorrow to see what can be done….
Do you have past experiences that can be of use to me ? When did your acne vanish, do you have scars ?

Well, my acne was mild through out high school and cleared up completely senior year. But a year later, after not eating properly and damaging my body in various ways I got severe cystic/pustule acne all over my face and here are the things that I tried that DID NOT work for me:
- proactive and drugstore topical medication
- Doctor prescribed topical skin care
- The antibiotic Solodyn(I was on it for 4 months while applying Differen and Finacea topically)~2 or 3 weeks after getting off the antibiotic I had a huge outbreak bigger than before and the acne became more resistant to other treatments.
* Your doctor might prescribe you antibiotics or even accutane if acne is still a problem for you that is(I think that these are the two worst treatments anyone could suggest for treating acne from experience of being on an antibiotic, HOWEVER if you decide that this is right for you then please drink 1cup of Kefir or eat yogurt once a day and along with this take a probiotic(acidophilus) everyday while on the antibiotic and for some time after you are finished with the treatment, so you don’t have serious digestive issues afterwards)(not trying to scare you just be aware that antibiotics can cause a lot of problems and destroy good bacteria along with the bad)
Holistic stuff that didn’t work for me but might help you out:
- Apple cider vinegar
- lemon juice water
- aloe vera and milk thistle supplements
Then…..I went to another doctor who prefers more holistic alternatives and she just told me to improve my diet(I wasn’t eating healthy/nutritious food) and increase my protein intake(you might have a food sensitivity to dairy, gluten, sugar, or just some random food you’re not aware of) and also to take acidophilus, and a B12 vitamin along with a multivitamin, and get lots of fiber!)
I improved my diet and incorporated these things: zinc, vitamin C, B12, Multivitamin, Acidophilus, flaxseed mix in kefir, and turmeric powder with black pepper(this is a gross one but it’s beneficial for your overall health). (all these things can help with acne and healing scars) This has changed my skin drastically~it hasn’t cured me completely because I’m still trying to change/include/eliminate some stuff into my routine and I think that some hormonal imbalance might be causing my acne so I will be trying some herbs that help with that in the future….
- Applying lemon juice to the scars helps fade them(this can be irritating, so apply directly to the scars, and use sunscreen when going outside because your skin will be more sensitive)
- Medaderm
- Neutrogena Advanced Solutions Acne Mark Fading Peel
- apple cider vinegar(can be irritating so dilute with water)
- vitamin K and E topically
- sandalwood and rose water
- aloe vera
- tea tree oil directly on the scars once a day for no more than three days
- a chemical peel(might cause an onset of rosacea if you are predisposed to it, it did for me)
- you can also try drinking chlorophyll along with eating a lot of vegetables (this just helps clear up acne a little bit and improves scars)
- Maybe Bee pollen and/or Sea Buckthorn supplement for acne/topically for scars
Most importantly improve your diet, drink lots of water and take a probiotic so your skin heals faster.
Good luck: )
I too suffer from acne problems. I have found that mederma has worked. It took about 2 months but it worked. Also, try tea tree oil. You can get it from Wal-Mart for about $8 in the pharmacy department. It smells bad but I heard it works. Just make sure you dilute it if you have sensitive skin cause it does tend to burn.
I have some acne scars and there were two things that helped my scar fade, time and lemon juice. Lemon juice helps exfoliate the skin, leaving the scar lighter, but you have to dab a little lemon juice every other day. Just doing it once won’t give you results.
this should help you a lot.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ush-vdr7…
