Is It Posible To Loose To Many White Blood Cells From An Infection?

I am a teen who has minor acne and seriboic dermitidis. recently i was in a non life threatening accident and i have a gash in my leg. it was treated but still got infected, and i have to change the bandages every 2 hours because blood and pus soak threw.

no, your body continues to produce white blood cells constantly. the only way you can really have a bad bleeding problem is if you have some type of bleeding disorder such as hemophilia or under going chemo for a type of cancer. leukemia also affects your white blood cell count. i do suggest that you get to the doctor and get some antibiotics though.. i work for the blood bank so if you have any more questions you can throw em my way. i will usually have a good answer for blood related questions..
It would have to be a very severe infection. It can occur with something like septicemia, or an abscess that remains untreated for a significant length of time. Eventually WBC’s are lost faster than the bone marrow can produce them. Patients present with all the signs of severe infection except a very low white count, sometimes less than 1000/ml.
Your white blood cells will be replaced as necessary by your body. I assume the infection is being treated as I am concerned that it still seems to be bleeding.
