How Well Does Benzoyl Peroxide Work When Dealing With Acne?

I Just got some benzoyl peroxide gel today from my personal doctor. I know its not going to clean up my acne(mild) over night. I would like to know how long it usually takes and, or how well it works.

Anyhow, don’t go out and buy those “get rid of your acne in one day” pills that you can find anywhere online, they just don’t work and you will spend your money for nothing.
Why not? Well, because it takes time to get rid of acne and you will need at least one week to see any noticeable results. There is absolutely no way to treat your acne in only one day.
You may use an over-the-counter treatment that contain substances such as benzoyl peroxide (gel or cream) or salicyclic acid. Start with the lowest strength and apply once a day about half an hour after washing. Never use more than 5 percent strength without consulting a physician.
Don’t pop, pick, scratch, or squeeze your pimples. This may cause infection and scarring.

It’s pretty good, and because your doctor prescribed it it’ll be a lot better than the stuff they give over the counter. Alone I don’t know how long it will take, it depends on your skin and the product you are using. It may take weeks to see results and a couple months to clear up, but then again it depends really on your acne situation.
Be warned though, most people are sensitive to benzoyl peroxide, so don’t be shocked if it burns or starts drying out your skin. You have to keep putting it on, and don’t go over the recommended amount. In time your skin should get used to it, and then you’ll see clear skin.
