How to cover acne without appearing cakey?
I have mild acne, but I have purple scars all over my cheeks and red tiny dots on my forehead. No big pimples. I don’t wear any makeup besides eyeshadow and mascara, but lately my acne has been getting to me. What do I do to cover this up without looking cakey. Last time I tried to cover it up, I put concealer (liquid) foundation, and then a face powder. I looked horrible, like I was wearing a mask.
Thank you.
I want it to look natural.

I agree with Angela!
I’ve had the best luck covering my acne with Meryl Norman brand makeup. It’s dermatologist tested to not clog your pores and even though it’s powder, you can barely tell that you’re wearing makeup if you choose the right color! Plus the prices are good and I’ve worn it everyday for the last year and a half and I still haven’t gone out and bought a new one!
Also, make sure you are using a nice, soft brush. Brushes where the bristles are hard can irritate sensitive skin and your acne. Lots of people overlook how important choosing the right brush can be.
Best of luck!
Just apply a few layers of foundation! It is much lighter and won’t look cakey.
hey! take it from someone who recently battled with acne. I suggest Bare Minerals make up. it is more expensive than the typical make up brands, however it works. It even adds to help your acne clear up. A kit comes with a mineral base, two concealers, and a bronzers that looks completely natural. It covers up your acne without looking cakey because it is a powder rather than a liquid.
Good luck! Hope this helped!
I had awful acne and I went through multiple brands until I discovered COVERFX. After using meds i thankfully now have minimal acne and i still use it because It works for the lightest acne to the most severe. It has certain products targeted to each skin issue, including uneven skin tone!!
I love the powder cover up from this line called POWDER FX because its light and keeps you looking natural. Liquid foundation is for severe acne, and it feels very cakey, i know from experience. This stuff covers the uneven colour from acne scars ext, without the cake look because its soooo light.
Although it is about $30 Canadian its well worth it. I guarantee you it wont clog your pores causing acne… trust me I went through many makeup break outs before finding this one. My dermatologist also confirmed that this was a very good product for skin.

This is from the cover fx site, here you answer like 3 simple questions about your skin and they tell you what they suggest you get for your skin colour, skin type, and skin issues. Although they will probably try to sell you like three products, i still say just the powder will work well with your preferences. It last for quite a while, and especially will for you since you only have mild acne and some uneven skin tone.
