How Long Does It Take For Glycolic Treatment To Work On Acne Scars?

Hi, I just began Glycolic treatment with my dermatologist and was wondering how long it will take for the glycolic treatment to begin working n when the acne marks will go away. I have only been to 2 sessions n i haven’t seen a difference. Can somebody give me an idea?

Hi Malaika,
Some points you should considere about glycolic acid in order to get rid of acne.
Glycolic acid is good at reducing oil on the surface, restoring the skins natural pH and causing the outer layer of skin to exfoliate.
On the other side glycolic is not as effective on deeper skin issues like mild to severe acne, cystic acne, acne scars, wrinkles, etc.
So you must check what´s your case. Anyway rembember that medications and creams only treat the symptoms and not the underlying cause and this is the reason why acne keeps coming back.

Expensive these treatments are, I did 15 sessions of TCP and Glycolic with other treatments, I got darker and look like a chimp now..

Many months, and generally you won’t know how well it’s really working for you until after about 6 months of treatments.
It won’t get rid of the scars completely, though, no matter how long you do it. They’ll look better, but still be there.
