How Can I Prevent Acne Caused By My Period?

I know one answer will most likely be birth control. The problem is, I don’t know how I can get it. I’m 16; If I discuss it with my mom then she’s going to think that I’m going to be having sex with my boyfriend (Which I don’t intend on doing). I don’t have my license either, nor do any of my friends. Is there any way I can prevent the acne, or any possible way of convincing my mom? Thanks all in advance.

Ask her to tale you to a dermatologist. Which is more expensive than seeing an OBGYN to get pills. But I totally understand your situation my mother would have FREAKED also!
Acne can be caused by different reasons,
-> genetical factors
-> High humidity of your environment
-> Psychological stress
-> Tight clothing
-> To few hygiene
Acne can be caused by stress to as you see, try to relax and do breathing excercises. In your question i see a lo of stress, You can just prevent it to be hygienous, not to much either and rule out stress. That way it helps preventing it.
you can try talking to your mom about birth control, explain to her that you have no intention on having sex with your bf ..but if the only reason that you want it is to prevent acne …it may not fly. i myself am 19 and unfortunatly for me, im illergic to it. i suffer or actually i did suffer really badly from acne around your age. try to talk to your mom about possibly seeing a dermatologist..i have one i get chem peels about every 4 months plus i have medication that helps prevent it. if that is too expensive, you can do such things like staying away from things that contain alot of caffiene, also lots of stress around that time is a big contributor. try neturogena face cleansers. i forget the name of it specifically but it helps to prevent breakouts alot(not the oil free acne wash a diff one) you can also try makeups that have salicylic acid in them . make sure you use a makeup that lists water as its first ingredient, and something that is non comedegenic (it wont clog pores/cause breakouts) scrounge around the drug store and see what you like.i hope i was of some help.
best of luck
Hi there!
Before you spent loads of money on the commercial creams and lotions, there are some home remedies that you may wish to try to get rid of your irritating pimples. For acne that flares at that time of the month, drink one to two cups of chasteberry tea a day. Some studies have shown that this herb helps regulate female hormones. However, this herb is only effective if you take it at least 2 to 3 months consistently.
You can also try dabbing vinegar or lemon juice on your pimples. Apply a small portion of the vinegar initially to see if your skin is sensitive to it. Most of the cases, this would not have any sensitivity issues. All vinegars and lemons contain acids that can help flush out pores. Another easy home remedy is to apply aloe vera on your pimples once a day. One study found that 90 percent of skin sores were completely healed with aloe vera within 5 days!
