I heard from a friend that toothpaste helps clear acne. Is this true?
Also, what are some other home remedies for clearing acne?
Thanks!

Yes, you can apply toothpaste directly on the pimple & leave it on for about 15 mins or until it dries out. This just sucks out the oil and dirt from the pimple & makes sure it doesnt get any worse.
KEEPING YOUR SKIN HEALTHY(to clear acne)
Drink lots of water. 8 glasses of water. If you do not like the taste of water, add cranberry juice to give it some flavor. I am not even kidding. The key to beautiful skin is hydration. Hydrated skin keeps the skin soft and supple.
Eat Right: A cleanser is not the instant fix to beautiful skin, you MUST have a healthy diet. It does not matter if you are a strict vegan or a meat lover. I don’t care if you eat McDonalds and fried chicken all day! Just make sure you have your daily dose of vitamins, calcium, protein and fiber. Vitamin C and E are known to help keep the skin rejuvenated.
Cleanse & Moisture: Your skin is like a sponge. It absorbs and collects all the junk in the atmosphere and the last thing you want to do is to sleep with all that nasty stuff on. Washing your face helps clear the pores and helps your skin breath. A healthy skin loves to breath folks!
Use sunscreen: Over SPF 30 UVA/UVB. Protect your skin
Sleep: Sleeping is the only opportunity your body gets to repair itself from a hard day of work, and you better bet your skin gets it’s daily beatings. Sleeping will reduce dark circles and repair your skin from its daily damages. Also, when you are using a skin treatment, it is best to use it at night because your skin will absorb more and will be more active in repairing. So rest up properly.
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle spf 15 $13.99
I have always recommended Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle spf 15 for youngsters. It is not too weak and not too strong. It has enough Retinol (the purest form of Vitamin A) to prevent and protect. I have used this moisturizer for years and I always see a difference in how bright my skin looks. I am loyal to this product.
SCARS
Aloe Vera helps remove acne scars by acting as an immune booster and an anti inflammatory agent. It is also used to reduce infections to regenerate skin and is thus able to rebuild scarred areas.
Vitamin E – There has been studies where doctors have concluded that Vitamin E does not heal scars, but from personal experiences and speaking to other dermatologist we saw different results that showed that Vitamin E is beneficial.
Fish Oil- Omega-3 Fatty Acids helps heal the skin.(you can take the capsules for that)
Meds you can take:
Neosporin
Mederma
Retinol
You will not see an overnight change but eventually following this routine you will. I know you want to get it cleared up right now but for that to happen you’ll have to change what you’re doing.
I have never heard toothpaste working on acne. I have heard to use witch hazel. Heating water and doing a steaming of the face. Doing an apricot scrub. Using a mild soap and warm water to wash your face in the morning and in the evening. Using rubbing alcohol as a stringent in the morning. Using over the counter acne pads or facial scrubs. a
I would stick to a mild soap and warm water. If your acne is really bad….see your Dr or a dermatologist. Either one can prescribe creams, washes and other medication to use. Best Wishes
Blessings
Rubbing alcohol helps bring them to a head faster.
Also hydro cortisone cream. These both worked for me.
If many home remedies don’t work for you I’d go to the dermatologist because you might have a different type of acne. Sometimes these remedies only irritate it if that is the case.
A little toothpaste (not the gel/fluoride stuff) helps dry pimples out if you use a LITTLE. Dont just put a mask of toothpaste on your face. The thing is.. it may have a reverse affect if your skin isnt used to it. Like when you brush your teeth, the toothpaste that gets on the skin around your mouth doesnt break out because its used to the same toothpaste. Ever notice when you get new toothpaste, you break out? Just be careful! Water down the toothpaste and put it over your skin.. you’ll still feel the cool drying affect it has without globbing up your skin
Sometimes when I get a big blemish under the skin, Ill take an ibuprophen and hold some ice on it for a while to take away the redness/inflamation.
I have combination skin and my acne has never been horrible, but its bad enough to the point that I wont leave the house without concealer. Something that has worked wonders for my skin was the Clearasil Skin-Perfecting wash… and that has done AMAZING things for my acne. It didnt make it go away entirely, but it made it so much better. I also use the Clean and Clear duel-action face moisturizer. It helps with acne, and now that its winter my skin was getting REALLY dry and gross. It has helped my acne AND made my skin softer. Its a tiny bottle, but since its medicated for face-only, I havent been using a whole lot. Just a thin layer twice a day.
Good luck!
It depends – if it is mint toothpaste, it’ll dry out any fresh spots etc. No, it doesn’t ‘help’ acne, it will just dry out your skin/spots.http://www.drhauschka.co.uk/products/fac…
Sometimes, products that aren’t homemade are the only way to help!
^ This is an amazing product for acne and acne scarring!
A really good face mask to use is this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e–d_n073…
Also, try a banana and honey face mask, or avocado.
Here’s a website with some more ideas for homemade face masks:http://www.mybeautyrecipes.com/homemade_…
Although, if you do have fairly bad acne, go to your Pharmacist’s and have a look at the products that are on offer
Good luck!
it works for freshly popped pimples, but other than that it isn’t a major helper. i still use it though.
-drink lemon juice and dab some on your zits, it’s good for a cleanser and you should drink it so it will cleanse your liver which will prevent zits.
-apple cider vinegar(which smells awful!) is a good toner for your face
-rubbing alcohol also helps and so does peroxide.
I don’t recommend it. I put toothpaste on my pimple before bed one time and woke up with a big scar were the pimple was. It drys out the skin and is not good for it either. I do think this website will help a lot! I have tried many of the remedies and they really do work! My favorite is the cinnamon and honey! Good luck and happy holidays!

not that i know of, but im sure it dosnt.
but I do know one very weird way but does work!
neosporin clears it up very quickly.
it fights bacteria, and acne is made up of bacteria.
but make sure you moisturize it, or it will dry up your skin.
It dries out the zits, you can use rubbing alcohol to dry them out too. I always put neosporin on mine before bed to heal them more quickly too. Amazingly, I don’t have too many noticeable scars on my face.
Yes, toothpaste help acne. You should use the paste kind, not the gel kind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOEzSb4iU… tells you a lot, too.
i guess, only because it dries it out.
and washing your face when you wake up and before you go to bed with very warm water.
have your own face towel that only you use, and pat it dry.

You can use Neosporin, too. It helps a lot, but make sure you moisturize or it’ll dry out your skin.
It does but don’t use it too often because it Will dry and crack your skin.
