Acne In 30′s? I’ve Had Ongoing Acne Since Teens And Wondered If Anyone Knows Of Natural Supplements For Acne

I’m currently on two prescription creams for the face and still breaking out. I’ve tried proactiv, but it stopped working. I don’t want to take any antibiotics or accutane. I’ve heard there are internal supplements worth looking into, possibly all natural. I’m ready to go on the pill soon f it doesn’t clear up

I’ve also had acne which started in my teens and has continued into my 30s. I didn’t really have the option of not taking Accutane or antibiotics, since I would have had significant scarring had I not. Taking Accutane, if you have severe acne, is a valid option that provides long-term remission for many patients who suffer from acne. It’s a derivative of Vitamin-A, so it’s not too far from “natural” itself. The much over-hyped side effects (while severe for a small minority) are not suffered by most patients; what most experience is just the usual: very dry skin, chapped lips, peeling/itchy skin, some headaches, and sometimes fatigue. Other side effects are much more rare.
There are really no effective “all natural” options for acne. If there were, there really wouldn’t be a market for all of these over-the-counter and prescription products which are sold today. However, if you want something which is derived from “natural” sources, you can ask your doctor about a medication called Nicomide or Nicomide-T. It is a combination of B-vitamins, copper, and zinc that is an effective anti-inflammatory treatment for acne. It has been studied to be just as effective as antibiotics. (Nicomide is the oral pill form; Nicomide-T is the topical gel form.) The effectiveness of this medication is where the people get the idea that zinc and B-vitamins can help treat acne; however, the amounts and concentrations of these are very precise in Nicomide — and are also monitored by the FDA. The amounts in “dietary supplements” or “natural”/”herbal” remedies are not FDA-regulated, and there is no guarantee of their potency or dosage accuracy.
For women, going on certain forms of birth control pills is an effective choice since it helps to balance the hormones that effect the activity of the sebaceous glands and shedding of the cells on the skin.
Good luck!
I think the natural acne cure talked about below is worth a try.
There is a new product called gennie salve you can order it off their website of the same name. I gave it to my son who has always had bad acne he tried it and saw a difference in just a few days. Its all natural and smells like peppermint. Try it I dont think youll be disappointed. http://www.genniesalve.com

I would definitely go on the pill, because acne is no fun =[
but I've been told that the fact that you still have the oil in your skin means you're face will continue to look young longer than those with dry or normal skin
I've tried the herbal supplements, and they don't work for me either, AND prescriptions.
What I do is wash my face morning, and right before I go to bed and then use a grocery store overnight creme like clearasil (works better than prescription if used sparingly)

use benzoyl peroxide and homemade topical niacinamide.
